In this exercise, you will create a linked text chain. The document on which you will link text is actually the document on which this workbook page was built.
Open the document named “Workbook Page.” Choose to Show Default from the View menu. Click on the chain icon (U) with the linking tool selectedto se the default text chain. Why does the text chain go automatically to this text box? Why is this not a desirable link in this case?
Select the unlinking tool (V) and click on the chain icon. What happens?
Now create a new default text chain. Select the linking tool, then click on the chain icon. Now select the box to whicb you want the first of the text to flow. What happens to show that the box is linked?

Next, you want to establish the links for the facing page. With the linking tool selected, click on the chain icon, then on the first box into which you want text to flow. Continue the text chain to the next box.
